We are committed to promoting wellness and disease prevention to patients.

Our mission is to provide a personalised and dedicated medical service, “Treat with Respect”, provide evidence based patient care incorporating a holistic approach toward diagnosis and management of your illness. We aim to provide an ‘old-style’ family General Practice. We do not discriminate on the basis of gender, ethnicity or sexual orientation.


Fees

Rosedale Family Medical Centre is a Private billing medical practice.

All consultations are payable on the day, the practice has available EASYCLAIM facilities allowing patients to pay and then claim the Medicare rebate on site. Longer consultations will be charged at a higher fee.

There may be some fees associated for extra supplies.

Non-attendance fees of $60.00 will be charged for missed appointments.

Appointments

Appointments may be made in person or by telephone. Call 03 5199 2124, during business hours or book conveniently online directly via our website .

Please advise reception staff upon your arrival.

Urgent same day appointments are often available.

Walk-in appointments are available and will be triaged accordingly.

A standard appointment is 15 minutes. If you need a longer appointment (for numerous or complex issues to discuss with the doctor) please let us know at the time of booking.

Telephone appointments are available upon request, however standard consultation fees will apply.

Notice is required when cancelling an appointment. If you need to cancel your appointment or you are running late, please let us know as soon as possible, as fees apply for missed appointments.

We make every effort to see our patients at their allocated appointment time.

EHealth Record

Are you registered for an eHealth record? We are able to assist you with this initiative. For all enquiries, please ask reception.


Results/Recalls/Reminders

All results are reviewed by your doctor. Our doctors prefer to discuss your results with you in person at an appointment.

We have an extensive computerised recall and follow-up reminder system. If you do not wish to be automatically placed in our recall system, please notify reception.


Communication

Telephone messages may be left with reception staff requesting your Doctor to call you back, all calls will be returned in a timely manner, however there may be a consultation fee involved.

Our emails are checked by reception staff periodically but are not constantly monitored throughout the day. We endeavour to respond to all emails within one business day.
Please do not email us regarding an urgent matter.

Reception staff are trained to recognise urgent medical matters and the procedures for obtaining urgent medical attention.


After Hours Care

For afterhours medical attention please call the After Hours GP Helpline on 1800 022 222, HealthAccess on 1800 272 767 or the Nurse-on-Call on 1330 606 024 for after-hours support and advice. 

If an emergency, please call 000. Alternatively you can contact the local accident and emergency; Latrobe Regional Hospital on 03 5173 8000 or Central Gippsland Health Services on 03 5143 8600.


Privacy

Your medical record is strictly confidential and private. We will not release any information to a third party without your prior consent, except as required by law. All staff sign a privacy and confidentiality clause as part of their employment conditions.


Feedback

We value the opinion and feedback from our patients on all aspects of the practice. Suggestions are welcome if you feel they would improve our service. If you have any concerns or complaints please contact our Practice Manager. If you would like to take a complaint further please contact the Health Complaints Commissioner on 1300 582 113 (https://hcc.vic.gov.au/).


Cost of other services

If you are referred to a specialist or other health professionals, you may incur a cost and be expected to pay on the day of your service.


Home Visits

Home visits may be available to our regular patients whose condition prevent them from attending the medical centre. Please check with reception or your doctor.
